Call to Action, this Friday (June 10)!

Hey all!

As many of you may know, my dad recently wrote an article for the SSCS website! The article was about a small group of dolphins that were being prepared to fly to China, from Japan. You can read the article here

So! A small group of activists have decided to start a call campaign to the airline Cathay Pacific to tell them we are sorry to see them involved with this slave trade, and inform them why it is wrong! Please be polite when calling on Friday, cussing to someone on the phone will not help, really try to inform people and explain why it is wrong!

I hope you’ll spread the news of this small campaign! Now, lets go out and do what we do best!!! Make some noise!

*Please remember you will need to be logged into facebook to add yourself to the list, but the information is still below if you do not have a facebook! (Link to the Event)

Cathay Pacific Airlines Participates in the Dolphin Slave Trade

As reported by Scott West, Sea Shepherd Department of Intelligence and Investigations, on May 30, 2011, six captive dolphins were taken from Taiji, Japan and shipped to China. “The six dolphins were kept in the trucks until about 2:00 pm when their crates were moved into the Cathay Pacific cargo handling facility at Kansai – this means the dolphins had been in their containers at least nine hours at this point.”

On Friday morning, we will let Cathay Pacific Airlines know that we do not approve of their involvement with the dolphin slaughter/captivity trade by mass callings of their offices around the world. We all know how Sea Shepherd will cripple a ship in the Japanese whaling fleet by fouling their propeller…we will do the same with the phones of Cathay Pacific. Call often and voice your protest against their involvement in this cruel trade of dolphin captivity, and please get your friends to call too.

  1. I will be on the road but will enter the phone number in my cell before I leave so I can give them a ring! ~for the dolphins~ ❤

  2. I Just tweeted this out via my two accounts on twitter under the twitter names of oldandnew4you and livenbothworlds, and also wrote Cathay Pacific…. This is what I told them in the complaint section:

“I am writing to let you know that I am very disappointed in your participation of transporting the captive dolphins from Taiji to China. Most captive dolphins die from illness and shock within a few days to a few years after captivity. They cannot handle the life of captivity. They belong in an ocean, not as pawns for the humans who wish to see them entertain for them in small tanks and under duress. I recommend that you research this thoroughly, from actual statistics, not from the entertainment facilities, before you do this again. … Signed & Delivered
